I
would like a decorative panel. How do I set about commissioning one?
Have a rough idea of what you would like to spend. We
need the measurements, please include the rebate. A design i.e. photograph,
picture, wallpaper, tile or rough sketch, or we can help with designs
and reference material. You can select a design from our brochure if you
prefer.
Once you have decided to commission
a panel we make a final size drawing. You are then invited to check the
drawing and choose your glass, textures and colours.
Will you check the measurements? Yes if the panel is commissioned and installation within
an eight mile radius of the work shop.
Do
you fit the panels? Yes.
The other houses in my road have their original
panels, mine doesn't. Can you make replacement panels that look like the
originals? Yes we can. You can supply a photograph or rubbing of the original.
I am a designer/artist, will you make a panel from
my sketches/drawings? Certainly. We are happy to work from customers reference
material.
I am concerned about security. What would
you advise? We can fit laminated glass. This is a clear sandwich of glass with a laminated
filling.
Do you give free estimates? Yes we do.
Do
you acid etch and sandblast designs onto glass? Yes we do.
If the
panel is acid etched or sandblasted, may I have a variety of colours? No. A variety of colours are not possible using
this method as the decoration is usually on one piece of glass only. A
variety of colours are only possible if the panel constructed using several
pieces of glass which are then joined together with lead cames.
I have
a stained glass panel which has broken/cracked pieces. Do you repair?
Yes.
Are you able to repair or restore a panel or window without removing it? Yes we can but only if the repairs needed are minor.
I have
a stained glass panel which is falling apart. Can it be repaired? Yes most panels can be repaired. We fit temporary
glazing whilst we restore the panel in our work shop.
How long does a commission take? Depending
on the volume of the commissioned work. The process, on average, takes
between 4 and 6 weeks.
Do
you supply kits, tools, glass? No. Currently we don't.
